Jaime retired from his career after twenty-one years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He earned a Master's in Public Administration with an emphasis in Management and Leadership from California State University, Northridge, and subsequently chose to develop scholarship programs which emphasize the importance of leadership roles that help students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Jaime co-founded the foundation in 2013 and works hard to provide as many students as possible with scholarships to help them on their journey to success. The philosophy behind the Foundation is that every hard-working student should have an opportunity to follow their dreams and unlock their potential.
Elizabeth is currently a counselor for LAUSD and received her Bachelor's Degree from UCLA in 2012 as well as a Master's from Dominguez Hills in 2016. Her work serves to ensure that students are informed and encouraged about pursuing higher education so they may also one day excel in their chosen field. Outside of the Barajas Foundation, Elizabeth has donated her time to adult schools, tutoring centers and high shools. She is very excited about the difference that the Barajas Foundation has already made in the Guadalupe Union School District.
Angela grew up in the mid-west and attended University of Minnesota before moving to Los Angeles. She currently works as a product manager at Amgen in Thousand Oaks where she has been a Clinical Operations professional for the past fifteen years. She has training in project management, outsourcing, personnel management and system evaluations. Angela understands the importance of hard work and education and wants to give others the opportunity to succeed personally and professionally.
Josephine earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Latin American History and focuses her time to local community outreach. She established a partnership with the Arcata Recreation Division, and through her efforts, supported and directed Camp Odyssey at the Pacific Union Summer Enrichment Program. She currently works as a Montessori educator, and is passionate about the importance of early childhood education. She works hard to help her students succeed, whether in Montessori or in The Barajas Foundation.
A Southern California native, Kenny Melcombe is a real estate agent in the San Fernando Valley. He holds a Bachelor;s degree in business administration/real estate from California State University, Northridge. He is passionate about helping people live productive and healthy lives. Besides being part of the Board of Directors of the Barajas Foundation, Kenny also gives his time to American Cancer Society-Relay for Life, Jewish Big Brothers, and the CSUN Alumni Association. In his free time, he enjoys running,swimming,mountain-biking, and volunteering.
Jose received his Master of Arts in Education from Pepperdine University. he has been making a difference in the Guadalupe Union School District as a bilingual elementary school teacher, an elementary school principal, and a junior high school principal. He is also actively involved in the community in organizations such as Santa Maria Sight Conversation Foundation, Santa Barbara Scholarships Foundation, and now, The Barajas Foundation.
